Seems Still that if you have the hard disc space that if you partition your drive, say you have a 180 GB Drive all partitioned for windows, If you have the chance of splitting it in half and leaving say 20 MB swap partition, soo...
your partition on your hard disc is:
Windows - 89,990 MB NTFS
Linux - 89,990 MB ext 3 or 4 (depends on Distro Flavor)
Swap - 20 MB
Now you have the choice At startup to choose windows or your linux distro...
For example I have Win XP and Ubuntu 10.04 at the boot loader (GNU Grub for me)
Now Both systems can use -ALL- my hardware including my my Graphics card which you can do a lot of cool things in linux distros if you have a good GPU. For example I have 2 Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX+ linked in SLI which is quite powerfull.
(So I guess my comment is best for people who want to dual boot. I use my Windows XP for Gaming and thats it. In Ubuntu I use everything... Everything! Getting away from windows other than gaming is so refreshing and free and you can do a lot of cool stuff in any of the Linux/Unix Distribution Flavors.)
(If you have your Drive completely locked down on windows and loaded with files and are too lazy to backup and reformat your drive to set partitions as showed above. Then virtualisation is for you but you wont get the wonderful experience I get from parting and dual booting.)
Just my honest oppinion...
If you have questions about doing the dual boot like I have feel free to e-mail me at - BreezyBlueAPS@gmail.com and i will send you step by step instructions... also I will need your system specification types and sizes.
