Australian telco giant Telstra has updated its Home bundled broadband plans to include improved data quotas as part of the launch of its new T-Box media device.
The telco has announced three new bundled plans:
The Home 25GB Value Bundle includes 25GB of monthly downloads, a T-Box set-top box or T-Hub device, unlimited local calls and STD calls capped at $1. The plan will cost $109 per month for 24 months with a $35 first-up payment.
The Home 100GB Ultimate Bundle delivers 100GB of downloads, a T-Box or T-Hub device, unlimited local and STD calls plus unlimited calls to any Telstra mobile phone from your home phone. This will set you back $139 per month for 24 months with a $35 up-front payment.
The Home 200GB Ultimate Bundle cranks up the download limit to 200GB per month, includes a T-Box or T-Hub device, unlimited local and STD calls plus unlimited calls to any Australia mobile phone from your home phone. You also get a $10 credit each month towards international calls.
Users can choose to go with both a T-Hub set-top-box and a T-Box player for an additional $35 payment plus an extra $11 per month.
Minimum cost over a 24-month period for each plan is $2171 (25GB), $3371 (100GB) and $3851 (200GB), respectively.
Responses on Telstra’s blog page about the new plans are mixed with a number of responders complaining about the expense of the plans compared with competition from the likes of TPG and chief rival Optus.
