Not long ago, capacitive touchscreens such as those found in Apple’s iPhone and iPad, were the realm of expensive vertical-market devices.

Today, everyone wants to know a capacitive touchscreen maker.

One maker feeling the love is Taiwanese manufacturer Wintek. According to a report in Digitimes.com, the company has begun shipping 10.1-inch panels to an unnamed south Korean manufacturer. Wintek executives are reported to believe touchscreens will make up more than 80% of total revenue by 2011.

The company has seen its revenue jump 67% for the first five months of 2010 compared with the same period in 2009.

It just shows that if you have the right product, everyone’s your friend.
