Entertainment giant Sony has launched its latest home cinema surround sound system delivering 3D pass-through on HDMI inputs as well as a 3D Blu-ray player.

Called the BDV-470SS, the system combines the new BDP-S470 Blu-ray player with 3D playback and IPTV support with its latest HT-AS5 surround sound system, which is claimed to deliver 1000-watts of audio power.

The sound system features auto calibration to get channel balance right the first time and also includes FM/AM receiver. All of the electronics are hidden inside the sub-woofer, leaving you with four compact speakers on show.

According to Sony, all you need to add is the 3D TV.

Sony has also launched a new HT-AF5, which features the same basic audio hardware but two tower front speakers, that can be wall-mounted or set on the floorstands provided.

The Blu-ray player is available now in most regions. The HT-AS5 and AF5 surround sound systems have been released in Europe. No word as yet on releases in other regions.
