Dell promised Google’s Android 2.2 operating system update would eventually come to the Dell Streak and today, it has finally delivered.

Froyo, as it’s also known, is now available to Dell Streak owners on the Optus network as an over-the-air update.

The update includes Flash 10.1 as well as the ability to use the Streak as a 3G internet hotspot for other devices.

There’s no mention at this stage whether the update also enables 720p (1280×720-pixel) video recording as it does on other devices such as the HTC Desire. However, given the Streak features the same 1GHz Qualcomm SnapDragon processor as the Desire, it should in theory do so.
