The Motorola XT5 Quench Android phone has had its retail price shaved down to $299.
Australian retailer Dick Smith has dropped the price down from its previous $399 and that this price, it’s a pretty fair phone. And unlocked.
Its specs are pretty decent for a lower-mid-range prepaid phone with its 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen panel and its 320×480-pixel resolution. Compared to the HTC Wildfire that comes locked to Telstra at the same price with its 240×320-pixel resolution screen, The XT5 looks to be pretty decent fair.
It runs the same 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor as the HTC Legend and includes a 5MP image sensor.
The only drawback is its Android 2.1 (Eclair) operating system and there is no official word on any Froyo (Android 2.2) update at this stage.
