Smartphone maker HTC is expected to launch its first Android tablet into the US market in April, according to a Taiwanese news source.

The HTC Flyer is a seven-inch Android 2.3 tablet and is expected to launch in small numbers in the US no later than early April. According to the report in Digitimes.com, problems have been encountered during the production process, holding up full production levels until May 2011.

Samsung is the first brand to offer an Android 3.0 tablet, the Galaxy Tab 10.1v, which will be available in April in Australia, but as an exclusive deal through Australian telco Vodafone. The Samsung tablet features a 10.1-inch screen with 1280×800-pixel resolution capacitive touchscreen, dual-core 1GHz processor and Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) operating system.
