Printing giant Hewlett-Packard has announced that its ePrint-enabled printers now support Google Cloud Print.

It means Gmail, Google Docs and Chrome OS users will be able to print remotely without the need for printer drivers or direct PC connection.

“Users are rapidly migrating to web and mobile apps, and Google Cloud Print brings full-featured printing capabilities to these apps,” said Mike Jazayeri, Product Management Director, Google. “We are excited that HP has brought the first generation of cloud-ready printers to market.  While cloud printing is possible with any printer that is connected to a PC, users can achieve a more streamlined, intuitive experience by printing directly to a cloud-ready printer.”

HP models that support ePrinting and Google Cloud Print include the PhotoSmart e-AIO series, ENVY A100 e-AIO, OfficeJet 6500A, 7500A and 8500A e-AIOs.

Users have to add the HP email address of their all-in-one printer to their Google account to gain access to secure web-based printing.
