sgs4Samsung has some big plans for its latest iconic Android smartphone.

The Korean giant is reported by digitimes.com to be preparing to launch the Galaxy S4 into 50 countries at the end of April. Further the report says Samsung and its hardware partners are ready to sell 10million phones in the first month and up to 30million in the first quarter of sales.

Unlike Apple, Samsung is said to be in the driving seat as far as components for the phone, supplying its own screens, image sensors, flash memory and RAM. However, it will only be supplying its own CPUs for the 3G version with Samsung Australia’s PR stating earlier this month that the 4G/LTE versions of the phone will feature Qualcomm’s super-quick Snapdragon 600 APQ8064 quad-core processor.

At this stage, with rumours of an Apple launch of its expected iPhone 5S phone not due until July, it will give Samsung a good run-up in summer/US sales before Apple’s traditional rumour mill hits fever-pitch.

To account for any possible delay due to the recent tensions on the Korean peninsula, Samsung is said to have manufacturing facilities in China and Vietnam ready to expand production if required.
