htcThere seems to be a race on at the moment for who can launch the largest smartphone or ‘phablet’.

While Samsung may decide to grab the title on the basis of its 6.3-inch Galaxy Mega, rival HTC might have something to say about it with rumours the Taiwanese phone maker is to launch a six-inch phone of its own.

There’s been quite a bit of talk about an HTC T6 smartphone, which was supposed to be a six-inch gargantuan phone to be powered by a fast 2.3GHz Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 processor, deliver 1080p resolution in its 5.9-inch chassis and include ‘Key Lime Pie’ – otherwise known as Android 5.0.

But Ubergizmo may have cottoned onto something, noticing a quote from a JP Morgan Hong Kong analyst who mentioned an ‘HTC One Max’ as a phone everyone’s interested in for the second half of 2013. At this stage, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive with speculation of a ‘Q3′ release.

If it is indeed launched with Android 5.0, it will very likely be one of the first examples so look for a Google launch date as the earliest point we’ll see this HTC model. Regardless, the phone will be one of the first examples of Qualcomm’s fastest Cortex A15 processor to-date.
