Techlogg.com was started by Darren Yates, one of Australia's most prolific and respected IT journalists and is backed by Lingtech Communications, one of Australia's most innovative media companies.

Over the past 12 years, Darren has written for many of Australia's most prestigious publications including the Australian edition of PC Magazine, where he served as Technical Editor. He has written for numerous newspapers including The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, The West Australian and The Herald Weekly Times.
However, he is most noted for his role as Contributing Editor to Australian PC User magazine, Australia's highest-selling and most-read technology magazine.

Darren is a multi-award-wining IT journalist, winning the Best Technical Journalist award an impressive four times at the Sun Microsystems IT Journalism Awards in 2003, 2005, 2006 and again in 2007. He was recognised as Best Technology Reviewer in 2005 and 2006 and was awarded the coveted IT Journalist of the Year prize in 2006.

Darren started out not in the computer industry but in the electronics industry, using his B.Sc. qualifications designing circuits and writing stories for Electronics Australia as well as international publications such as Electronics Design and Electronics & Wireless World.
