| LG launches Titanium-Black version of Shine cellphone |

New model gets a body makeover but receives same features as original model. Booming handset manufacturer LG has launched the second of its Black Label cellphone series called Shine with the new Shine “Titanium Black”. Showing a bit more class than the original silver version, the new model retains the full metal body as well as the same features of the original with a new colour. The phone boasts a 2MP (two-megapixel) digital camera with certified Schneider lens plus digital audio with built-in graphic equaliser. It’s compatible with both GPRS and EDGE data systems and has on-board Bluetooth. LG launched the Shine range in February 2007 to generally positive reviews. While the 512MB of on-board memory and the all-metal construction generally saw it get the “thumbs-up”, the scroll wheel menu control device made texting a bit more difficult. The high-speed download capabilities of up to 3.6Mbps via HSDPA makes using wireless web browsing a far more enjoyable, if somewhat expensive, pass-time. The phone features up to 260 hours stand-by time, 170 minutes talk time and 100 minutes video-talk time. Unfortunately, there’s no memory expansion option available. While the phone handles a decent array of audio formats that includes MP3, AAC, WMAv9 and MP4, it will also play back 320x240-pixel video in MP4, WMV and 3GP formats.
